What is Abirapro 250mg?

Abirapro 250mg Tablet is an anti-cancer drug that is used in men along with a drug called prednisone to treat prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.

Contraindications to abirapro drugs?

Allergies: Abirapro is not recommended for use in patients allergic to abiraterone or to any of its ingredients.

Pregnancy: The drug Abirapro is not recommended for use in pregnant women.

Drug dosage

  • Abirapro is recommended to be administered in a concentration of 1,000 mg (four 250mg tablets) once daily.
  • Do not take the medicine with food in the stomach.
  • Interaction with the food in the stomach will cause dangerous side effects.

Recommended dosage for patients with hepatic impairment

  • In patients with moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class B) the recommended dose should be reduced when Abirapro is administered to 250 mg once daily.
  • If the side effects of the drug cannot be improved, the patient should stop taking Abirapro.
  • Patients with severe hepatic impairment should not take this drug at all.

How to take Abirapro 250mg?

  • Use Abirapro as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for the exact dosing instructions.
  • Abirapro has an additional patient leaflet. Talk to your pharmacist if you have questions about this information.
  • Take Abirapro by mouth on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. DO NOT take it with food. The amount of Abirapro in your body may increase if you take it with food. This can increase your risk of side effects.
  • Swallow Abirapro whole with water. Do not break, crush, or chew before swallowing.
  • If you miss a dose of Abirapro, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at the same time. If you miss more than 1 dose, contact your doctor.

  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as possible.
  • But if it is almost like the next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the time as planned.
  • Do not take double the prescribed dose.

Side effects of the drug Abirapro 250mg

Call your doctor right away if you have any of the following allergic symptoms:

  • Rash; shortness of breath; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Swelling in ankles or feet.
  • Pain in the legs.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Pain or burning when urinating, blood in the urine.
  • Abnormally fast heart rate.
  • Headache, confusion.
  • Feeling strange body, mind excitement.
  • Muscle weakness.
  • Liver problems such as right abdominal pain (upper right side), nausea, vomiting, dark urine, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
  • Common and less serious side effects:
  • Indigestion, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation.
  • Feeling tired, weak, and hot.
  • Blood tests showed abnormal signs.
  • Cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, cough, sore throat.

Warning when taking Abirapro 250mg

  • Use in Pediatrics: The drug Abirapro is not recommended for use in children and adolescents.
  • Use in women: Abirapro is not recommended for use in female patients.
  • Contraceptive methods: Effective methods of contraception must be used during treatment with Abirapro pills and for up to 1 week after stopping treatment.

For pregnant & lactating women

  • Pregnancy: The drug Abirapro is not recommended for use in women.
  • Breast-feeding: Abirapro is not recommended for use in women.
