CellCept contains the active ingredient mycophenolate mofetil.
CellCept (mycophenolate mofetil) weakens your body's immune system, to prevent it from "rejecting" a transplant organ like a kidney. Organ rejection occurs when the immune system sees a new organ as an invader and attacks it.
CellCept is used with other drugs to prevent organ transplant rejection after a kidney, liver, or heart transplant.
CellCept is often taken with cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral) and a steroid medicine.
Indications for the treatment of the drug CellCept
CellCept is indicated in combination with ciclosporin and corticosteroids for the prevention of acute transplant rejection in patients receiving kidney, heart or liver transplantation.
